The Director of IT Operations is a hands-on position responsible for the ongoing operations of the Company's mission critical IT infrastructure and applications. This leadership position will ensure proactive management of the enterprise technology platforms and address any production incidents that may occur. The successful candidate will be experienced with vendor management and performing a full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work These responsibilities include, but not limited to ownership of IT enterprise systems management and monitoring, OS security, backup and archiving solutions, Active Directory, servers, storage, VoIP solutions, data replication, and high availability business continuity across diverse datacenters. Other responsibilities include Vendor Relationship management and serving on various IT leadership committees for Security, Enterprise Architecture and various project steering committees. The successful candidate will offer leadership to the team focused on technical projects involving the Operations areas. The Director of IT Operations must be able to effectively communicate with non-company managers and with all levels of the Company's management team and must have organizational project management skills. Oversee implementation of rationalization and infrastructure consolidation programs, whereby the intent is to optimize the software and hardware applications to consolidate / reduce complexity and cost of IT services. The role will provide leadership in maturing the support organization and ensure that established SLAs for production system are consistently met. *Responsibilities *High level of technical understanding and competence across multiple intersecting IT disciplines. *Develops and executes the direction and delivery for the IT operations, including managing internal staff and 3rd party vendors. *Assesses organizations needs for services to support the technical environment. *Supervises outsourcing processes and procedures, and troubleshoots problems to ensure the continuity of outsourcing business. *Establishes the policies, procedures, and practices to operate the site at full capability while supporting continuous expansion. Executes consistently with a focus on operational excellence. *Manages outages and events that impact services critical to the business. *Delivers improvements and changes as necessary to repair recurring issues and proactively identify and prevent other issues. *Delivers actionable root cause analysis of issues and assists with delivery of results *Maintains close working relationships with internal teams and vendors to establish service level agreements, along with support and management methodologies. *Regularly meets with counterparts to investigate better management and stability aspects of delivering IT services. Experience *Eight to ten years of progressively responsible experience managing all aspects of system, network and site operations and design. A minimum of five years with director-level responsibilities for multiple departments Manage peer relationships, including interface with peer IT managers, Enterprise Architecture and Engineering, IT Risk, IT Development, functional business managers, and internal customers as required. *Ensure DR solutions are tested, kept current and apply to real world situations. *Assure all corporate devices have up-to-date security applications / patches. *Act as single point of contact for senior management. *On-call Escalation services after normal business hours. *Create and manage the vision and strategy to take the operations to the next level of maturity *Develop a scalable operations model with a well-documented roadmap, goals and objectives *Implement best practices for infrastructure services including proven infrastructure methodologies, service management processes and operational support *Ensure monitoring, measuring and reporting of service performance against service level objectives, customer satisfaction and financial goals *Ensure appropriate systems and service continuity plans are defined, in place and exercised regularly *Manage supplier relationships that provide hardware, software, maintenance and support for highly technical and complex systems *Communicate vision, expectations, goals, and deadlines and motivate others through inspirational leadership *Build a high performing team through staff development, recruiting and retention to support growing business needs *Other duties as required *Drive and manage resolution of high-severity outages, maintenance, "break-fix," and enhancements for existing business and IT applications (ERP, POS, WMS, EDW, and HRIS) *Provides thought leadership in IT strategy, operations, cost-optimization, innovation, and efficiency improvement *Provide guidance on compliance matters affecting PCI and security from an IT Perspective Required Experience *10 years of IT experience with at least 5+ years of experience in managing support for a large mission critical, 7x24x365 operational systems, data centers & infrastructure in a multi location multi state environment *Experience managing support for an Enterprise, Cloud and Custom Applications environment *Working knowledge of, and experience with, PCI 3.0 and data security best practices *Experience working with auditors and regulators *Extensive knowledge of IT Architecture, infrastructure & applications management *Experience with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework *Expense and Capital management, budgeting, service level tracking, product implementation *Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills required *Strong Leadership and People Management *Background in Change Management and Process Improvement *Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Information Systems or other related field
