At least 10 :12 years of commercial real estate transactional and general business experience required. Must have current awareness of developments in fields of experience. Provide timely, cost:effective, expert legal services to the Corporate Real Estate/Land Resources
organization. Report on laws, regulation and issues pertaining to business sector and recommend company strategy and policy. Key
Accountabilities: Manage commercial real estate sales and development transactions for Corporate Real Estate/Land Resources. Interpret laws,
regulations and rulings, and render legal documents. Proactively cultivate and maintain a client network throughout corporate staff and
within legal function. Contribute to achieving both corporate and business sector strategic goals as proactive member of corporate staff
and functional partner with other business and specialist counsel. Furnish timely input on real estate legal issues to Chief Counsel Corporate Real Estate/Land Resources and other business group and specialist counsel. Collaborate with Chief Counsel and specialist counsel in resolving disputes and litigation related to real estate. Provide training on a proactive basis to business sector personnel, business counsel and corporate staff. Select and retain competent, cost:effective outside counsel, and frame their performance goals, guide their work efforts and monitor their performance.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 : 12 years relevant legal experience, including experience in negotiating and drafting land conveyance documents, including deeds,
leases, easements, and donations/exchanges and/or sale agreements and corrective instruments; preparing closing documents and reviewing and resolving title and survey issues; drafting releases, deed restrictions and restrictive covenants, managing and resolving environmental issues
related to land sales; handling legal work related to planned development communities, rights of entry permits, tax matters and other
general real estate related work which could also include litigation and litigation management. Must have ability to solve complex legal issues
and apply broad principles. Must have current awareness of developments in fields of expertise. Must demonstrate evidence of timely and
successful completion of assigned tasks. Must have capacity to consult with and manage outside counsel. Must be a creative thinker who can
resolve disputes and be able to determine best and highest use of properties so as to minimize risk to the company and/or create financial
benefit. The ideal candidate must also be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
