My name is Jimmy Hudson. I recently came home to Memphis after spending the last 2 years touring. I was Shawn Lane's tech and student for 9 years and have taken lessons from not only Shawn, but Jimmy Herring, Paul Gilbert, Buckethead, Steve Morse, John Scoffield, Barry Richman, Carl Cullpepper, and many others. I also am an Atlanta Institute of Music Scholar and later went on for my M.M at University of Colorado Boulder.
At 35 I have been playing professionally for 21 years and teaching lessons and clinics since I was 17. I have shared the stage with many of todays top artists and some of the most advanced guitarists in the world including Shawn Lane, Allman Bros, Skynard, Widespread Panic, Little Texas, Aquarium Rescue unit, Travis Tritt, David Allen Coe, Willie Nelson, Gretchen Wilson, Martina Mcbride, Zac Brown, Montgomery Gentry, Steve Vai, Buckethead, Poison, and many many others.
Unlike a bunch of other teachers out there, I am a true working professional guitarist that has had a very successful and rewarding career nationally and internationally with some of today's top artists in today's music industry, not just playing for 10 people at the local pub. I formerly owned a very successful music school that is still going strong but decided 2 years ago to tour for a while and sold my share out. My students over the years have had fully paid scholarships to the best music schools out there, they have been on national television including Jay Leno and David Letterman, and they have been on national radio.
No matter what your dreams and goals are, I can help you obtain them and beyond at a reasonable cost. Some of my students come in a couple times a week because they really enjoy what they get out of lessons. I am fluent in every style and specialize in people who want to become advanced players. I will take on beginners as well, and I am here to help you be a better musician in a fun environment.
